Katahdin Trust Company's Business Online Banking is equipped with the latest security technology to help further protect your business from identity theft.
Confirm Correct Email Address
Please check that the email address we have on file for you is correct. If not, you will not be able to retrieve the security code required to access Business Online Banking. Simply ask your Company Administrator to change and/or verify your email address. If you are the Company Administrator, please call our Electronic Banking Department at (800) 671-5622, Ext. 121 and we'll be happy to update your email address.
Step One – Retrieve Security Code
When you enter your login information and click 'Submit', Enhanced Login Security will automatically check that your User ID and password match the computer being used. If it doesn’t, you will be prompted to enter a security code before accessing Business Online Banking. At that time, the required security code will be automatically sent to the email address we have on file associated with the User ID.
To retrieve the code, simply go to your email inbox and open the email with a subject of "Auto-Generated Response Notification" It is important to open a new window to access your email by clicking on the link "Click here to open a new browser window" that appears under Step 1 in the prompt.

Step Two - Enter Security Code
Once you have opened the email containing the security code, copy and paste the code into the appropriate box on the Enhanced Login Security prompt under Step 2. (TIP: Use your mouse to highlight the security code in the email by left clicking and running the cursor over the code at the same time. Then press Ctrl +C to copy the code. Go back to the security code prompt and click in the box where it asks for the code and press Ctrl+V to paste the code.)

Step Three - Add extra Security Protection
Below the "Enter emailed Security Code" box, you will be asked if you want to add extra security protection to the computer you are using. By checking the box, an encrypted cookie will be placed on your hard drive so that we may recognize that computer during future logins. A cookie is a small text file or text identifier stored directly on the computer browser that you are using and will not harm your computer. The cookie links each individual user to the computer, so if two different employees use the same computer to log in, each user must check the box to add extra security to his/her individual user ID.

After that, it's business as usual and you will not see anything different when using Business Online Banking. The next time you log in using that computer, Enhanced Login Security will automatically check that your user ID and password match the computer being used.
If you log in from a computer that you have not added extra security protection to, you will need to enter a new security code that will be sent to you via email. This prevents unauthorized access to your Business Online Banking account as it enables us to identify you with your user ID and password.
Keep in mind that if a user is away from the office and wants to access online banking from a computer that is not enrolled with extra security, he/she will need to access that email account in order to obtain the security code.
