Switching banks used to be a hassle…

If you're like most people, you've thought about changing banks many times. Maybe you've moved or changed jobs. Whatever the reason, switching your accounts to Katahdin Trust Company is easier than you might think because we do all the work for you, simply follow the steps below.

1. Open your Katahdin Trust Company account
   Stop by any Katahdin Trust Company branch to open your account. You'll even receive a free gift, just our way of saying thanks. After you've opened your account, make a note of your new Katahdin Trust Company checking account number and Katahdin Trust Company's routing number which is 011202392. Click here for help in finding your checking account number and routing number.

2. Change direct deposits
   Simply fill out this form and give it to your employer, the Social Security Administration and/or your retirement plan to have funds directly deposited into your new Katahdin Trust Company checking account. Be sure to include a Katahdin Trust Company check with "VOID" written in ink across it.

3. Change automatic payments
   Fill out this form to change all automatic withdrawals or automated payment services, such as a phone bill. Don't forget about those that use your check card number, or an automatic payment made online.

4. Stop using your old account
   Let all your outstanding checks clear. This could take up to 10 days or possibly longer. Make sure that any direct deposit or automatic payments have converted to your new Katahdin Trust Company account. Also, be sure to bring in any unused checks, check cards, and deposit slips to Katahdin Trust Company. We'll pay you up to $25.00 for your unused checks and check card from your old financial institution.
   
   
5. Close your old account
   Here's the day you've been waiting for...send this form to close your old account. No face-to-face confrontation is needed. If, after all your checks have cleared, you have a remaining balance, your old bank will send you a check. It's that simple!
